Falling stars in politics: Ara Mina, Cesar Montano, Joey Marquez lose in 2010 polls

While celebrities like Lucy Torres-Gomez and Christopher de Leon have already been proclaimed winners in the 2010 elections, others stars are not so fortunate. Based on reports from GMANews.tv and PEP.ph, the "falling stars" include:

- Actor Cesar Montano (ran for governor of Bohol)

- Singer Dingdong Avanzado (ran for congressman of Siquijor)

- Singer Imelda Papin (ran for senator)

- Actress Jobelle Salvador (ran for vice mayor of Makati)

- Actor Jestoni Alarcon (ran for congressman of Rizal)

- Comedian Joey Marquez (ran for mayor of Parañaque City)

- Comedian Anjo Yllana (ran for vice mayor of Parañaque City

- Actress Aiko Melendez (ran for vice mayor of Quezon City)

- Singer Rico J. Puno (ran for vice mayor of Makati City)

- Actress Ara Mina (ran for councilor of the second district of Quezon City)

- Comedian Arnell Ignacio (ran for councilor of the first district of Quezon City)

- Comedian Ogie Diaz (ran for councilor of the third district of Quezon City)

- Actor Jaime Fabregas (ran for councilor of the third district of Quezon City)

Though the election tally is still ongoing, Lakas-Kampi-CMD vice presidential candidate Edu Manzano, TV host and actor, already conceded defeat on May 11. Jejomar Binay, Mar Roxas and Loren Legarda, who also admitted defeat, currently occupy the top three slots, as seen on the partial and unofficial tally of GMANews.tv.
