Manny Pacquiao to accept Fighter of the Decade award in New York
Sarangani congressman-elect Manny Pacquiao has arrived in New York to accept two prestigious awards from the Boxing Writers Association of America on June 4: Fighter of the Decade and Fighter of the Year, reports 24 Oras.
Pacquiao, 31, also took home the Fighter of the Year award in 2006. He bagged the award again this year for his wins last year against the likes of Juan Manuel Marquez and Oscar de la Hoya, according to Inquirer.net.
During his two-week stay, Pacquiao also plans to talk to promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank about a possible match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in November, reports GMANews.TV. The report also states the alleged major negotiation roadblocks: "differences on the drug testing protocol and split on the fight purse."
