Charice sings anew in Korean TV show that made her famous, comforts singer moved to tears by her performance
International sensation Charice Pempengco returned for the third time to perform in Star King, the Korean TV show whose YouTube clip of Charice’s performance in 2007 caught Ellen DeGeneres’ eye. According to Charice’ fan site ChariceMania.com, the 18-year-old singer performed songs by Whitney Houston. She sang "I Have Nothing," "I Will Always Love You," and "When You Believe" with Korean singer So Hyang.
Charice also sang "One Moment in Time" right after Luna, member of Korean girl band F(x), performed the same song. Luna cried after Charice’ performance, prompting Charice to comfort the blonde singer. "You don’t have to feel bad for what you heard because everyone in the world has a big chance. Like me, a lot of people said I’m not good enough but I still believed in myself. That’s the important thing." Charice said, "She did really, really great. She was amazing. She’s lovely."
After changing from a demure light blue dress to an edgier black ensemble, Charice performed her last song, "Pyramid." All throughout the performances, the show hosts and audience members were shown slack-jawed or rubbing their arms seemingly experiencing goosebumps. Charice gave the host Ho Dong an autographed copy of her first self-titled album.
Charice’ first two performances in Star King were in 2007.
