From August 1 to 31, spice up your usual buffet meal with the month-long Flavors of Thailand Buffet at the Marriott Café, Marriott Hotel Manila in Newport City, Pasay. Guest chef and official Thai food ambassador Thanathorn Krobsuay from JW Marriott Bangkok will be preparing authentic Thai dishes daily. "Chef Krobsuay flew in ingredients and spices from Thailand especially for the festival," shared Daryn Hudson, Director for Food & Beverage, Marriott Hotel Manila.
Available for lunch and dinner (P1,350 nett for adults and P675 for children) and during the Sunday Brunch at P1,650 per person, diners who avail of the Flavors of Thailand buffet will also get a chance to win a pair of roundtrip tickets to Thailand courtesy of the Thai Airways and Tourism Authority of Thailand. The prize trip includes a three-night stay with breakfast at the Rennaisance Koh Samui Resort and Spa Thailand.
The buffet spread will include piping hot tom yam goong soup (spicy prawn soup with lemongrass and galangal) and Som tum (spicy green papaya salad) a palate-stimulating spicy salad with shredded papaya, beans, and dried shrimp.
Go for seconds with the array of main dishes including Thod mun pla (thai fish cakes with pickled cucumber), marinated fried fish cakes with green beans and herbs swathed in sweet and sour sauce; larb gai (minced chicken salad with mint and ground rice) enhanced with the natural flavors of lime juice and fish sauce; and Pad Thai, stir-fried noodle with seafood mixed with eggs, been sprouts, shrimp, chicken, and tofu with tamarind juice, hot chili, and fish sauce. Complete the meal with the selection of Thai royal desserts including kanom thai ruam. Usually coconut milk-based and made with sweet sticky rice, all desserts will highlight piquant Asian ingredients.
All the other food stations will also be available for diners availing of the Flavors of Thailand buffet.
