GMA won’t refute SONA claims, Dato Arroyo says figures wrong, Mikey says P-Noy should "be responsible about those statements"
The sons of Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, former president, defended their mother against the allegations of President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III in his State of the Nation Address on July 26. Camarines Sur Rep. Diosdado "Dato" Arroyo told Balitanghali, "Marami ngang nag-te-text sa akin na ’yong mga figures na binigay po ng team ni Pangulong Aquino ay medyo mali-mali po." His brother Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo, representative of Ang Galing Pinoy party-list said, "They [Aquino’s camp] should just be responsible about their statements."
Arroyo’s brother-in-law Ignacio "Iggy" Arroyo, representative of the fifth district of Negros Occidental, told Balitanghali, "The speech sounded more like a campaign speech. The Hacienda Luisita case was not touched upon."
Arroyo’s spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn told dwIZ radio, as reported by GMANews.tv, that Arroyo need not respond to Aquino’s allegations. "Kahit ako, the minute after the SONA ended, I could answer each and every point without doing my research, eh mas bright sa akin si Ma’am. Kung kaya ko sagutin mas kaya niya pero since nasagot na namin, ’di na niya kailangan sumagot."
