Actor Zoren Legaspi got down on one knee and proposed to his longtime partner actress and TV host Carmina Villaroel during the press conference for their new talk show "Love in Mister, Love ni Misis," reports 24 Oras, although it appeared to be done just for fun as the couple has been talking about getting married for quite some time now. According to the report, the couple’s wedding was supposed to be featured in the pilot episode of the show (to be aired August 9), but it did not push through because of their busy schedules.
24 Oras reporter Lhar Santiago said the couple, parents to twin commercial models Cassandra and Maverick, still wants to get married this year and, if possible, would like to ask for the blessing of President Noynoy Aquino. Legaspi told Santiago, "Gusto ko siya as a person. Maganda feeling ko sa kanya. I have a nice, nice feeling about our president na parang gumaang tuloy ang Pilipinas nang dahil sa kanya."
The couple also wants to have transgender personality BB Gandanghari (formerly known as actor Rustom Padilla and formerly married to Villaroel) to guest in their upcoming show, reports 24 Oras. Villaroel told Santiago, "Nininerbiyos ako ’di dahil may galit o anything. It’s just that parang I’m facing a new person. Kung tutuusin hindi pa talaga kami magkakakilala kasi ibang tao na nga siya (BB)." The actress-TV host added, as message to BB, "BB if you’re watching, we really would like to have you as our guest sa show namin."
According to GMANews.tv, Villaroel and Rustom Padilla were married in civil rights on June 24, 1998. Villaroel filed a petition to annul the marriage just after several months. The court approved the petition for annulment in June 2002.
