The new promotional video of Glee’s second season features the Philippines’ Charice Pempengco, who plays a Filipina exchange student and rival to Lea Michele’s diva character Rachel Berry. In the video, they belt out a cover of Lady Gaga’s "Telephone" inside a bathroom before the terror coach Sue Sylvester (played by Jane Lynch) demands they shut up.
Michele, a Best Actress nominee in the recent Emmy Awards, has praised Charice’s "gorgeous voice," as seen in a clip shown on TV Patrol World last month. "She is the teeniest, most wee person I’ve ever seen in my life. She’s so darling and so sweet." Fellow Glee cast members Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang) and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang) were also impressed by Charice.
Glee returns on September 21 (U.S. time) on Fox and on September 22 (Philippine time) on ETC.
