ABS-CBN’s Star Magic denies John Lloyd Cruz’s and Shaina Magdayao’s rumored "penis captivus" controversy
SNN video: TV host Boy Abunda denies John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao’s hospital controversy.
Star Magic, the ABS-CBN talent management arm, has denied the rumor that celebrity couple John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao were rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital two weeks ago due to "penis captivus," reports ABS-CBNNews.com.
According to a 1979 article in the British Medical Journal, penis captivus is a medical condition when vaginal muscles very firmly clamp down on the penis, imprisoning the organ. "(It) has had a largely hearsay existence in medical history (but) it is not entirely mythical. It seems to have been a symptom of great rarity in former times and to have vanished perhaps completely in this century," wrote psychiatrist F. Kraupl Taylor.
Star Magic, handler of Cruz and Magdayao, said in the ABS-CBNNews.com report that both of their wards were busy with their own projects on the day they were allegedly rushed to the hospital. Magdayao is currently shooting scenes for Precious Hearts Romances present Alyna, while Cruz is working on Imortal.
Citing a St. Luke’s insider, The Buzz reported that there is no record of the couple being admitted into the hospital.
