Shaina Magdayao denies "penis captivus" controversy, calls it "the most outrageous rumor ever" in the showbiz industry
Actress Shaina Magdayao has denied the rumor that she and boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz were rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital two weeks ago due to "penis captivus," reports PEP.ph. Citing the British Medical Journal, PEP.ph said penis captivus is a condition where "spasm occurs during normal sexual intercourse and prevents the termination of the coital connection of the partners."
During the press conference of her new show Alyna held September 16, Magdayao said in the PEP.ph report, "I think it’s the most outrageous tsismis ever sa industriya natin! Masyado ho yata siyang nanonood ng Grey’s Anatomy (I think it’s the most outrageous rumor ever in the showbiz industry! The source of this rumor may have watched too many episodes of Grey’s Anatomy). "As celebrities, she said, they wouldn’t have gone to a hospital if the rumor was indeed true because the incident would have been leaked to the public.
"Kung nababastusan ako? Definitely! Kung nabababaan ako? Definitely! Kung natsi-cheapan po ako? Oo! Pero kung nasasaktan, hindi, kasi alam kong hindi totoo (I definitely feel violated. It was such a cheap attack. But I’m not hurt because I know it isn’t true)," Magdayao said. Although she and Cruz were both affected by the issue, she said the controversy has made their relationship stronger. Cruz never left her hanging, she said in a Sun.Star report. "He’s always there to hold my hand."

In the PEP.ph report, Magdayao said her camp will take legal action once the investigation of Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, is completed. In another report, PEP.ph revealed the findings of their own investigation. PEP.ph talked to Ruben Marasigan, the writer of the Pinoy Parazzi blind item entitled "Hindi mahugot-hugot: Sikat na young couple, magkapatong na isinugod sa ospital?!" The columnist said he heard about the rumor from the production people of a certain network, who heard it from the production crew of another network.
Marasigan, who has been in the industry for 12 years, told PEP.ph, "Natatakot akong magbigay ng clue, kasi nga hindi mo rin matanong ’yong dalawa. At nakakagulat, kasi ngayon, sobra na iyong istorya! May nagsabing nakuhaan daw ng CCTV camera ng St. Luke’s." ("I was afraid to give clues as to who the celebrities were in the blind item. I couldn’t ask them for a comment. It’s shocking how the story grew! Some even said a St. Luke’s CCTV camera caught the couple in the hospital at the time of the alleged incident.")
PEP.ph also talked to a nurse from St. Luke’s Global City, who claimed she saw Magdayao and Cruz on a stretcher in the emergency room of the hospital. She said she also saw Magdayao’s mother. "But when asked if she would go on record with this, she stopped making comments," PEP.ph said.
Marilen Tronqued-Lagniton, vice president for customer affairs of St. Luke’s Medical City, told The Philippine Star, "It’s totally untrue! They were seen at St. Luke’s walking to the nursery to visit John Lloyd’s cousin who gave birth."
