Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez, who tied the knot in India on August 19, revealed plans to get married again, this time in Catholic rites in the Philippines, reports ABS-CBNNews.com. The celebrity couple was married through a Muslim ceremony called "nikah," according to PEP.ph, last month at the Taj Mahal. Padilla, who converted to Islam in 1996, is Muslim, and Rodriguez is Catholic.
Rodriguez told SNN, "We are going to invite (our family and friends) in the Catholic blessing. That’s why we always said that when the right time comes, we will talk." She said they were both tight-lipped about whether or not they got married, because they felt it was not the right time to discuss it yet, according to ABS-CBNNews.com.
PEP.ph reports that one of the couple’s concerns was Ali, Padilla’s 10-year-old son who flew to Australia on September 20 to be with his mother. Rodriguez said in the ABS-CBNNews.com report, "We came back from India to fix stuff with Ali. Since he left yesterday, we can now clarify (the reports)." She later told SNN, according to PEP.ph, "I’m the happiest person in the world!"
