CHECK IT OUT: Chocolate Pizza at Heavenly Chocolates
This pizza challenges adventurous chocoholics anew.
Just when you thought you’ve seen all incarnations of chocolate possible, along comes the Chocolate Pizza.
Heavenly Chocolates, the dessert destination in Roces Avenue, Quezon City, launched the Arriba Chocolate Pizza (P150, serves two) this September. A thin-crust pizza with sweet and salty flavors, it is coated with warm bittersweet chocolate and topped with savory shallot bits, sliced almonds, toasted garlic and your choice of salted anchovy fry or crisp bacon bits. Every single-serve pizza contains no less than the equivalent of an 80-gram bar of 65% cacao dark chocolate made from single-origin Ecuador beans.
Says chocolatier and "choco-vangelist" Benjamin Pedro, "Arriba" is derived from the Spanish word meaning "from up there," referring to the cacao beans harvested from the Andean slopes of Ecuador.
Other options for big chocolate fans at Heavenly Chocolates: Belgian Dark chocolate fondue (P250), hot chocolate drinks, single-origin truffles (P199 for a box of six) and Sachi Black Dark Nama.
Heavenly Chocolates is at Roces Center, 127 Roces Avenue, Quezon City. Tel. No. 666-2208. Open from 1:00 PM-10:00 PM.
