E! News on Courteney Cox and David Arquette’s separation
Hollywood stars Courteney Cox, 46, and David Arquette, 39, have separated after 11 years of marriage, EOnline.com reports. In a joint statement, the couple said, "We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. (We separated to) better understand ourselves, the qualities we need in a partner and our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter, and we still love each other deeply." Their daughter Coco is six years old.
Cox was the one who asked for a separation in June, Arquette told Howard Stern in the latter’s radio show. TheHollywoodGossip.com quoted Arquette: "She said to me, ’I don’t want to be your mother anymore.’ And I appreciated that about her... She didn’t want to tell me, ’Don’t do that.’ She didn’t want to nag me anymore."
Arquette said the split "breaks (his heart)" and that he has been "begging" his wife to get back together with him, according to TheHollywoodGossip.com. But Arquette also admitted that he had sex with Jasmine Waltz, a 28-year-old bartender, "one time, maybe twice" during his trial separation from Cox, FoxNews.com quoted his interview with Stern.

"My sexual encounter made me feel pretty manly," Arquette told Stern. He explained that he and Cox are allowed to see other people, according to the terms of their separation. He revealed that he and his wife are not having sex, which he "completely understands." He said, "She’s an emotional being... If it doesn’t feel right, she doesn’t feel like bonding in that way." Arquette added that he thinks Cox and her Cougar Town co-star, Brian Van Holt, are having an "emotional affair."
