The Red Shoes wins Jurors Recognition Award in Bogota International Film Festival

The Philippines’ The Red Shoes won the Jurors Recognition Award in the 27th Bogota Film Festival held in Colombia from September 29 to October 7, according to the website of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). Directed by Raul Jordan and written by James Ladioray, the movie starred Marvin Agustin and Nikki Gil.

The DFA said The Red Shoes was the lone Asian film among the 16 that competed in the festival such as movies from the United States, Finland, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. It was the first time that it competed in an international film festival.

According to Manila Bulletin, The Red Shoes will be featured in the 8th China Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival in Beijing this month, and will compete in the 1st Vietnam International Film Festival in Hanoi afterwards. Gil is nominated as Best Actress in the Vietnam Festival.
