President Obama says homosexuality is not a choice but is due to people being "born with a certain make-up"
Asked at an MTV youth forum in Washington if homosexuality is a lifestyle choice or genetic, President Barack Obama said he believes it is not a choice but is due to people being born with "a certain make-up," reports CNN.
The Hill quotes Obama as saying, "I don’t profess to be an expert...This is a layperson’s opinion, but I don’t think that it’s a choice. I think that people are born with a certain make-up. But we’re all children of God."
CNN reports that Obama said. "We don’t make determinations about who we love. That’s why I think discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is wrong."
President Obama was also asked by young American voters about the economy, health, immigration and gay rights.
