OFW found dead on Gulf Air flight GF 154; same flight number as abandoned newborn found last month
24 Oras video: OFW found dead inside Gulf Air plane
Marlon Cueva, an OFW working in Abu Dhabi, was found dead in the restroom of a Gulf Air plane, reports Inquirer.net. Ironically, the plane had the same flight number -GF 154- as the plane of the abandoned newborn found last September.
Cueva, 36, was on a flight from Bahrain arriving in Manila on October 20. A flight attendant found him with a string (supposedly from a jacket) tied around his neck, according to GMANews.tv. NAIA 1 General Manager Octavio Villalina told Radyo Inquirer, "The injuries seem self-inflicted... We will leave it to our forensic experts to establish the suicide." GMANews.tv said authorities are also investigating whether or not foul play was involved.
Cueva, an electrician, was allegedly restless even before the plane took off, said the plane’s crew. He supposedly kept apologizing while walking along the aisle.
Cueva’s wife Vilma was waiting for him at the airport. "I don’t know why he did this. There’s no reason at all," she said in an Inquirer report. Cueva was from Lubang Island, Mindoro Occidental.
