Hate pages on Facebook draw more criticism for P-Noy speechwriter Carmen Mislang
Several hate pages pertaining to Assistant Secretary Maria Carmen Mislang have been set up on Facebook and continues to draw criticism for Mislang’s undiplomatic Tweets while in Vietnam, reports GMANews.TV. Mislang was part of the President Aquino’s contingent to the 17th Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit held in Vietnam.
Critics posted messages on the Facebook wall calling Mislang a "disgrace," while some are demanding that she quit or be fired.
In one hate page named "No to Mai Mislang Movement," wall posts include the message: "What a very good way to start your administration...a miscommunication group that sucks!"
President Noynoy Aquino already gave his statement and said that Mislang will not be fired. According to Aquino, "Mislang is young and could easily make mistakes." Mislang already wrote a letter to the President to explain and apologize for her mistake.
In a report by ABS-CBNnews.com, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte urged Mislang’s critics to respect the decision of the President. She also said that Mislang will continue to be part of future trips, if needed. Valte adds, "I think everybody naman deserves a second chance, lalo na kung nagpakita ng remorse. Asec. Mislang deserves a second chance."
