CHECK IT OUT: Pages Deli in Shangri-la Plaza Mall
A new book-inspired coffee spot serves cafe fare with a side of literature.
Ground Floor Shangri-la Plaza Mall
EDSA corner Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City
Open from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily
Travel and a love for books inspired the new Pages Deli at Shangri-la Mall. Damask-printed lamps hang from ceilings and comfortable leather chairs play up the deli’s cozy European vibe. Even the servers, clad in Englishman pageboy outfits, look like they stepped out of a Charles Dickens book.

The deli serves strong brews (ask for the Pages Blend, P75) and cafe fare with a side of literature. Their menu lists familiar pasta dishes, soups, salads, and sandwiches named after popular literary works: The Secret Garden (P200) is a vegetarian sandwich with zucchinis, bell peppers, and greens; To Kill A Mockingbird (P250), is Pages Deli’s version of the classic grilled chicken sandwich; Animal Farm (P280) has turkey and bacon; The Red Badge of Courage (P200), mixes pastrami, Emmental cheese and sauerkraut sandwiched between rye bread; and Of Mice and Men (P200), a cheese-lover’s treat with cheddar, mozzarella and Gruyere cheese. All sandwiches are served with a side of chips, plus a rolled-up scroll with quotes from the book the sandwich is named after.
Cheese platters along with wines from Australia, Chile and France are also available for the after-office crowd.
