DOT Secretary Alberto Lim says Undersecretary Enteng Romano accountable for junked campaign
Department of Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim held Undersecretary Enteng Romano--who resigned this week--accountable for the widely criticized "Pilipinas Kay Ganda" campaign, according to a Manila Times report. "The full accountability was Enteng’s because he went against our advice to wait a little," Lim told ABS-CBNNews.com. Romano "has full autonomy in deciding (on) the logo," Manila Times also quoted Lim as saying. "He was not a fall guy, and he did an honorable thing (by resigning)."
Lim also said he will not resign. "Command responsibility has certain limits of accountability as to how it goes up to the top. If we (allowed) that, it would affect me or President (Noynoy) Aquino."
Manila Times quoted Lim: "Let us put things in their proper perspective. Undersecretary Romano has resigned already and has taken full responsibility for (the campaign). Nothing was stolen from the country and (the) P5 million (spent on the scrapped campaign) is not that big compared to what was stolen from the country in the past."
