Sen. Lito Lapid marked absent in Senate for over a month
Senator Lito Lapid has been marked absent in the Senate for over a month, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile said in an Inquirer.net report. On official leave only until November 19, Lapid requested for an extension, according to Enrile. The Senate President rejected it and did not ask why Lapid wanted to extend his leave of absence. However, he suspected and was told Lapid might be sick.
Lapid’s media relations officer, Alex Marcelino told Inquirer.net and reporters that the Senator went to Las Vegas while he was on leave for a medical check-up. He added that Lapid visited his daughter-in-law, actress Tanya Garcia, who gave birth in Las Vegas. Marcelino said Lapid returned to the Philippines on December 18.
