Leyte Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez receives P15-M grant for tourism project in Ormoc

Leyte Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez received a P15-million grant from the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), which recently approved her application for the development of tourism sites in Ormoc.

According to PEP.ph, Gomez wants to develop Lake Danao, Palompon and the Tres Marias islets. A floating pavilion with a jetty, wakeboarding facilities, and zip line landing pads are in store for Lake Danao. In Palompon, Gomez plans to build a tourism wharf complex that will house a tourism office and an open-air restaurant-bar, among others. Gomez also plans to put a boardwalk and a weather cottage in Tres Marias.

Tourism is one of the priorities of the celebrity-turned-politician, who is also the vice president of the Senate Committee on Tourism.
