Go green, lean and healthy with the Oakroom’s "Healthy Sips and Bites" menu this January. Oakroom’s Executive Chef Jerome Cartailler, a fitness buff, is responsible for the menu inspired by the South Beach diet: vegetables, beans, and whole grains dominate the menu with dishes that are rich in unsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids.
Salad pickings include the South Beach Salad (P295), a generous bowl of greens with oranges, celery and tuna flakes served with lime olive oil dressing. Flavorful low-cal options include Baked Mushrooms Pizzaiola (P325), greens served with baked mozzarella, tomatoes and mushrooms and olive oil; and the Caprese Salad (P325), a light palate-teaser with salty mozzarella cheese and fresh tomatoes drizzled with basil vinaigrette sauce.
Seafood and meat dishes are all served with your choice of pilaf brown rice, wild rice pilaf, grilled asparagus with parmesan or side salad with citrus dressing. Choose from the filling Foil-baked salmon with olives, tomato, garlic, saffron and pine nuts (P675); the Seared Grouper Fillet with Southwestern spices and tomato jalapeno salsa, a foil to the light flavors of the salad menu; or the Rosemary mustard grilled chicken supreme with ratatouille compote (P495). Good-for-you desserts are also on the menu: there’s the Low-sugar raspberry cheesecake, and the Apple and Berries Cobbler and Fresh Kiwi and Orange Salad (each P175).
The dishes are matched with light, cleansing and refreshing beverages which include carrot, Cucumber and lime juice, Apple, mint and ginger detox juice and Berry magic, a sweet mix of fresh berries, green apple and pears.
The "Healthy Bites and Sips" la carte menu is available from 11 a.m. onwards.
