Situated along the restaurant and bar-lined street of Sgt. Esguerra in Quezon City, you'll find a 24-hour eating and drinking spot called Homer's. Before you write it off as just another one of those bars along the bustling street, you'll be delighted to know that apart from cheap, ice-cold beer (a bottle is P35 only) and a selection of cocktails and liquor, the highlight of Homer's is its food-mouth-watering Pinoy favorites and sumptuous regional fare.
The open-air 24-hour bar and restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes. Play it safe by ordering classics like Grilled Liempo (P120), Crispy Pata (P380), Grilled Tuna Belly (P180), Sinigang na Tadyang sa Bayabas (P245), Laing with Crispy Hipon (P99), Pork Isaw (P95), or Kalderetang Kambing (P210). Feeling adventurous? Go for regional specialties: Bicolano staple, Kinunot na Pagi (P125); the Ilocano version of sisig, Dinakdakan (P145); seasonal dish, Lemon Butter Frog Legs (P125); and bestseller Crispy Ulo (P420), deep fried pig's head oozing with flavor. Other must-tries include innovative Filipino fare like Bicol Express Pasta (P160), a treat for spicy food fanatics; Fili Cheesesteak (P95); which uses bistek and kesong puti sandwiched in a huge pandesal bun; Bagnet Ensalada (P120), with mustard leaves and bagoong balayan; and Pandan Panna Cotta (P60).
With a casual ambiance, dining and drinking here is a pleasant no-frills experience. So pleasant that it's slowly becoming a favorite night-to-early-morning hangout of people who work and live in the vicinity. If you're lucky, you might even spot a celebrity or two.
