Carlos Celdran now a TV-5 kapatid, show to launch on February 21
Artist, activist and Manila tour guide extraordinaire Carlos Celdran posted on Facebook today that he is now a part-time kapatid of TV-5. He will guest host and serve as the man-on-the-street correspondent of a new show to be launched on February 21 on Channel 41.
"The show will be about social issues, cultural issues, not too much politics but, of course, all these things reflect upon one another," he told SPOT.ph. "Think AM radio of the taxi driver but now on TV with stylish sets."
The title of the hour-long daily show has to be kept under wraps for now but Celdran revealed to SPOT.ph that the show’s regular hosts will be lawyer and radio commentator Aida Sy, and Ang Ladlad’s Danton Remoto. A "popular rock educator" is currently in talks with TV-5 to co-host the show said Celdran, who will guest host once or twice a week.
Because the show will be in Filipino, Celdran said he is working on improving his Tagalog. "Sabi ng peeps sa TV5, importante daw na hinde masyado worsh worsh ang dating" ("TV-5 told me it’s important not to seem worsh worsh (the sound of a Pinoy with a pseudo Kano Inglisero accent)").
