Oscars 2011: Natalie Portman wins Best Actress, Pinay-produced God of Love wins Best Short Live Action

At the ongoing Oscars 2011 at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, awards season favorite Natalie Portman won Best Actress for Black Swan. In the Best Supporting Actress Category, Melissa Leo bested The Fighter co-star Amy Adams, Filipino-American actress Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), Helena Bonham Carter (The King’s Speech) and Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom).

Meanwhile, God of Love, which was produced by New-York-based Filipino producer Stefanie Walmsley, won Best Short Film (Live Action).

Best Visual Effects: Inception (Paul Franklin, Chris Corbould, Andrew Lockley and Peter Bebb)

Best Film Editing: The Social Network (Angus Wall and Kirk Baxter)
