Several online publishers in the Philippines have agreed to adopt a single audience measurement system at a ceremony held yesterday, reports GMA News and Techie.com.ph.
Summit Media, Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), GMA New Media Inc., ABC-CBN Interactive Inc., Inquirer Interactive Inc., PhilStar Global Corp., and BusinessWorld Publishing Corp. were the media companies represented at the signing of the memorandum of understanding.
The media organizations chose Effective Measure, which will gather data such as web traffic and release the figures to advertisers and advertising agencies.
"This is one of the first (systems) that (will) be used in the online news media community," BusinessWorld publisher Vergel Santos said, according to GMA News. "Standards are necessary."
GMA Network Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Felipe Gozon said, "Advertisers need credible standards to make them decide where they can put their money."
Summit Media websites include SPOT.ph, FHM.com.ph, Cosmo.ph, StyleBible.ph, Candymag.com, FemaleNetwork.com, SmartParenting.com.ph, TopGear.com.ph, Techie.com.ph and BridalBook.ph.
