Sam Milby contacts Japanese-Irish singer Marie Digby after Japan earthquake
Actor-singer Sam Milby contacted international singer and former flame Marie Digby to check if she was all right after a magnitude-8.9 earthquake struck Japan on Friday, reports ABS-CBN News.
Digby, who arrived in Manila on Monday for a project, told ABS-CBN News that she was in an elevator with her mother when the earthquake began. "I honestly have goose bumps thinking about it... We were lucky to be in a secure building but many people weren’t and they ended up dying either in the earthquake or as a result of the tsunami."
The Japanese-Irish singer added, "All my friends are reaching out to me because the cellphone lines were down and no one could get in touch with us. Sam is one of the people who reached out and made sure that I was okay and my family was all right." She said she will figure out a way to help the calamity victims "as soon as everything settles."
Milby and Digby dated last year but they decided to just be friends because of the distance between them. Digby, who rose to fame with her YouTube covers, shuttles between Los Angeles and Tokyo, according to Manila Bulletin.
