Fil-Am singer Thia Megia delivers "boring" and "safe" performance on American Idol, say judges
Thia Megia performs "Colors of the Wind."
American Idol judges Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson called Filipino-American singer Thia Megia’s performance this week "safe." Adding that her "Colors of the Wind" number was "so boring," Jackson said, "I felt like I was at some pageant somewhere. There was nothing special about it."
Steven Tyler said she sang the song beautifully but asked her, "Is that song who you think you are?" Megia said, "I thought it perfectly suited what’s going on in the world today." She added that she chose the song for the birth-year tune week because "it was the best out of all the choices that (she) had." Megia was born in 1995.
Jackson told Megia that she has talent but that she should select a different non-ballad song next time.
