More Pinoys trust Jejomar Binay than P-Noy, says Pulse Asia
(SPOT.ph) More Filipinos trust Vice President Jejomar Binay than President Noynoy Aquino, according to a Pulse Asia survey conducted from February 24 to March 6. GMA News Online reports that Binay had an 81 percent trust rating while Aquino had a 75 percent rating.
Filipinos also approved of Binay’s performance the most among government officials, giving him an 83 percent rating. Meanwhile, Aquino got a 74 percent approval rating, according to GMA News Online.
Presidential spokersperson Edwin Lacierda said the Malacañang is "certainly happy" with Binay’s ratings because "he’s part of the team of the President." In a statement released yesterday, Binay said, "I am very grateful for the people’s support. This expression of optimism and confidence encourages me to work harder for our people."
Binay was working on the deference of the execution of three convicted Filipino drug mules in China when Pulse Asia conducted the survey. They were supposed to be executed on February 20 and 21 but the executions were put on hold after Binay’s "humanitarian visit" to Beijing, according to GMA News Online. But this week, it was announced that the three Filipinos will be executed on March 30.
The Pulse Asia survey was conducted among 1,200 respondents aged 18 years old and above, reports GMA News Online.
