Manny Pacquiao: If my parents used a condom, I wouldn’t be here now
(SPOT.ph) In a recorded message played at the anti-Reproductive Health Bill prayer rally on Friday, world boxing champ Manny Pacquiao said the controversial bill will prevent "blessings" from being born, reports GMA News Online.
"Kung nag-condom po ang aking ama, si Mommy D, wala pong Manny Pacquiao (If my dad and Mommy Dionisia used a condom, there wouldn’t be a Manny Pacquiao)," GMA News Online quoted the Sarangani congressman as saying.
He added, "Bilang ama, ayoko po na turuan ang aking mga anak ng kalaswaan (As a father, I don’t want my children taught about lewdness)." He urged the public to fight the RH Bill, which includes provisions for sex education among the youth.
Pacquiao also maintained that eradicating poverty, not passing the RH Bill, is the solution to poverty in the Philippines. He added, "Sa aking paniniwala, labag po ito sa kautusan ng Panginoon (I believe the bill is against the Lord’s teachings)."
