PH embassy warns against Italy job scam
(SPOT.ph) The Philippine Embassy in Rome has warned overseas Filipino workers in Italy against fake job offers in L’Aquila circulating via email, reports GMA News Online. In a news release posted on the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) website, the embassy said that the email address being used is firstname.lastname@example.org with the office address "Via Sicilia 162/C".
The jobs listed in the email include openings for machinery operators, electric engineers and chefs in L’Aquila, a mountainous city in Central Italy that was hit by a magnitude-6.2 earthquake in 2009.
The Philippine Embassay said, "There is no Committee for the Reconstruction of L’Aquila at the Ministry’s official address in Via Sicilia 162/C cited in the email, and the Italian Ministry of Development Public Works and Housing does not correspond to any Italian office."
