PH embassy warns against Italy job scam

( The Philippine Embassy in Rome has warned overseas Filipino workers in Italy against fake job offers in L’Aquila circulating via email, reports GMA News Online. In a news release posted on the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) website, the embassy said that the email address being used is with the office address "Via Sicilia 162/C".

The jobs listed in the email include openings for machinery operators, electric engineers and chefs in L’Aquila, a mountainous city in Central Italy that was hit by a magnitude-6.2 earthquake in 2009.

The Philippine Embassay said, "There is no Committee for the Reconstruction of L’Aquila at the Ministry’s official address in Via Sicilia 162/C cited in the email, and the Italian Ministry of Development Public Works and Housing does not correspond to any Italian office."
