Royal couple gave Prince William’s former Pinay nanny a kiss at wedding reception
(SPOT.ph) Prince William and Kate Middleton, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both kissed William’s former Filipino nanny, Araceli "Lillie" Piccio, upon seeing her at their wedding reception on Friday, Piccio told Inquirer.net.
Piccio said, "I cried at the wedding. It was both a happy and sad occasion for me." She said she thought of the late Princess Diana, whom she used to work for, who "would have been so proud" of her eldest son.
Piccio told Inquirer.net that the staff including her was made to line up in the courtyard when the newlyweds arrived at Clarence House. "When Prince William drove in, there was loud applause from everyone and all of a sudden I heard him call out, ’Hi Lillie’ and he came up to hug and kiss me, as if he really missed me. I was dumbfounded... I was not able to say anything." She said the Prince also thanked her for coming and complemented her dress made by Bacolod designer Lourdes Lipa.
She added that Middleton kissed her as well, reports Inquirer.net. Asked how she knew the Prince, Piccio said, "I told her (Middleton) I had been working for the family since William was a baby. She was beautiful and sweet... Everybody was looking at us because Prince William and Kate stopped to talk to me."
Piccio added that William’s brother Prince Harry, whom she also took care of, approached her when she was having snacks. "I tried to get up to curtsy to him but he told me to sit and he kissed me." She said Prince Charles also came up to her and asked how she was doing, reports Inquirer.net.
