"God doesn’t need celebrity endorsements" -Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales on the RH Bill
(SPOT.ph) Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales said yesterday that the Catholic Church’s opposition to the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill does not need a celebrity endorser because "God doesn’t need one," reports Inquirer.net.
Rosales added, "We are thankful that there are popular personalities who advocate against the RH bill... but when you know that you are on the right path, you need no one (because) God doesn’t require endorsements."
Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao is one of the famous personalities who have called for the public to fight the passage of the RH Bill. In March, the boxer and Sarangani congressman said in a recorded message, "Kung nag-condom po ang aking ama, si Mommy D, wala pong Manny Pacquiao (If my dad and Mommy Dionisia used a condom, there wouldn’t be a Manny Pacquiao)."
Meanwhile, Inquirer.net reports that Tony-winning actress Lea Salonga has said that she is willing to become the official RH Bill ambassador should Malacañang offer her the post.
