Cesar Montano to direct Hollywood indie film?
(SPOT.ph) Actor Cesar Montano may direct a Hollywood indie film according to Philippine Star’s Ricky Lo, reports ABS-CBN News.
Montano might direct Getting to America, written by Donald Martin who also penned Masterpiece, a current Al Pacino project about French artist Henri Matisse. Getting to America is about a Filipino migrating to America.
Montano also had Sacada in mind, a story which tells of early Filipino settlers who worked as pineapple and sugarcane planters in Hawaii. "It’s a true story set in the ’20s and it touches on labor dispute that leads to what is known as the Hanapepe Massacre," he said. At the request of Martin, Montano might also direct the potential film as well as play a cameo and act as line producer.
Lo saw Montano with his family when the actor met with Hollywood producer Marty Katz. Katz also produced Montano’s first Hollywood film The Great Raid in 2005 where he played a Filipino guerilla.
