RH bill supporter accuses anti-RH advocate of assault
(SPOT.ph) As the House of Representatives debated on the controversial Reproductive Health Bill on Tuesday, Filipino Freethinkers advocacy director Kenneth Keng and Ang Kapatiran party former senatorial candidate Rizalito David got into a heated dispute ending with Keng accusing David of assault, reports GMA News.
"Seated and unrestrained, David hit Keng's camera phone, which was next to Keng's face, with the back of his hand, sending the camera phone flying into Keng's glasses," said a statement from Keng's camp as quoted by GMA News.
Keng narrated that David became angry when they discussed the supposedly questionable funding of the RH bill. In the article, Keng said that David used a "threatening tone and adversarial choice of words" and even invited him to settle the issue outside with "only the two of them."
According to the report, The Filipino Freethinkers, which describes itself as "an organization of atheists and freethinkers... working for a secular Filipino society promoting reason and science," condemned the incident, deeming David’s behavior as "unacceptable." Meanwhile, Pro-Life Philippines, where David volunteers, announced that the organization "has nothing to do with the former senatorial candidate's actions."
