Ronald Singson's brother replaces him as Ilocos Sur representative
(SPOT.ph) Vigan City Vice Mayor Ryan Luis Singson won the special elections held last Saturday, May 28, for the Ilocos Sur first district congressional post that his brother, Ronald Singson, once held, reports GMA News. Ryan Luis received 71,995 votes while his opponent, Bertrand Baterina had 30,445.
Ronald resigned from the post last March after being convicted of illegal drug possession in Hongkong. According to ABS-CBN News, his brother and successor Ryan Luis has vowed to keep clear of drugs, and intends to continue the projects Ronald has started.
The two Singsons are sons of incumbent Ilocos Sur governor Luis Chavit Singson. According to the report, there are now 10 Singsons in office: a governor, three district representatives, four mayors and two vice mayors.
