Joey "Pepe" Smith’s daughter Sanya wants apology from Tim Yap for giving her dad an Ewww award
(SPOT.ph) Former MYX VJ Sanya Smith wants an apology from eventologist Tim Yap who presented her father, rock legend Joey "Pepe" Smith, with the "Eew Award" on one of his TV shows, reports Manila Bulletin.
According to Sanya, the award was a "slap in the face," especially since Yap was a friend of the Smiths. "We’re friends. We’re supposed to be friends. Why would you do that?" said Sanya in GMA News TV’s In the Limelight on May 30. "He could’ve asked, you know, Papa’s permisision... He would’ve been so game. Papa, he’s cool with everything. Konting respeto lang. ’Yon lang (Just a little respect is all we ask)." Sanya even joked to give Yap the Eew Award instead.
In a separate interview, however, Yap maintained that he is in good terms with the Smiths. "Walang tampuhan between myself, with Sanya, with Queenie (eldest Smith daughter), with Pepe... Kasi lagi kaming nagkikita sa mga parties... Magkaibigan kami (There are no problems between myself, with Sanya, with Queenie, with Pepe... We always see each other during parties... We’re all friends."
Sanya, though hurt and offended, hopes that her issue with Tim would clear up. "I really don’t like conflict between friends especially, so it’ll be nice if we can get this out of the way."
