VP Binay off to Wharton to learn about housing finance

(SPOT.ph) Vice President and Chair of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council Jejomar Binay will attend an International Housing Finance Program on "Housing Finance in a Changing Global Environment" at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania from June 6 to June 16, reports ABS-CBN News.


"I am confident that this would give us fresh insights on how to address our 3.6 million housing gap and provide quality and affordable homes to our people," Binay said. According to a press release from the Office of the Vice President, Binay will be accompanied by top officials of key shelter agencies.


While he’s there, Binay, also the President’s chief adviser on overseas Filipino workers’ concerns, will meet and hold dialogues with Filipino communities in Rockland County, New York City, Washington, Philadelphia and Monterey. Binay will also attend the flag-raising and Independence Day parade on June 5 in New York, June 12 in Washington, and the Rizal Day celebration on June 17 in Monterey.
