(SPOT.ph) Serving Chinese fare since 2003, Zong recently opened its kitchen to a new chef and revamped its bright, casual dining space. New items were also added to the menu but Zong habitués will still find their favorites-Fried Squid with Salt and Pepper (P388), Jelly Fish Salad with Century Duck Eggs (P188), Roasted HK Style Duck (P288, solo; P528 for one-fourth duck) and Chicken in Salted Egg Yolk (P438)-alongside Chef Wong Kam On's new creations.
Fill your table with orders of hearty Braised Shanghai Meatballs (P328) and the savory Dumplings with Black Vinegar Sauce (P328). Chef Wong Kam On's Homemade Meat Roll in Orange Sauce (P328), Chinese-Style Chicken Salad (P348) and Steamed Zucchini in Pumpkin Sauce (P389) are must-tries for those longing to try something new. Serving sizes are still ideal for sharing-the cream-hued space retains its bench-style seating which encourage communal dining.
Zong also maintains its no MSG policy, ensuring that all dishes-whether poached, steamed, deep-fried or roasted-are served using fresh ingredients sans flavor enhancers. "We are still adopting a 'no service charge policy'," adds owner Josh Tiu. "We believe customers should never have to pay for good service."
