Beggar dies after government hospital denies him treatment
(SPOT.ph) An unidentified man was discovered dead on the sidewalk in front of the Odeon Mall along C.M. Recto Street yesterday, July 31, reports The Philippine Star. According to the report, barangay tanods informed authorities that they brought the beggar to the state-run Mother and Child Hospital in Tondo two days ago after noticing that he was sick, however, the center’s staff refused to admit him, saying that he has no relatives to care for him.
The man was described to be 35 to 40 years old, around 5’4" in height, and sporting a "JMR" tattoo on his right knee. Doctors suspect that he suffered from tuberculosis.
