Cozy, quaint and inviting-Felicity is a welcome change from the row of drinking spots that dot the Holy Spirit Drive in Quezon City.

(SPOT.ph) Stepping inside Felicity, a cozy neighborhood restaurant along Don Antonio’s busy main road, feels like being welcomed inside a quaint country home: the airy, all-white space decorated with whitewashed wooden furniture and charming country knickknacks strewn across the room provide the backdrop for enjoying home-cooked meals. "Felicity is really like an extension of our home kitchen," owner Carol de Leon says. "What we serve here are dishes my husband, Jasper, and I serve our guests when entertaining. It’s really comfort food."

Expect a satisfied sigh to escape your lips when you order the Pasta Kai Vigan (P160), a plate of spaghetti topped with a light Vigan longganisa and garlic sauce-the salty-garlicky combo of the native sausage will reel you in until you finish off the plate. Hefty meal-eaters should go for the Hickory Barbecue Country Ribs (P285) served with corn rice, with tender, falls-off-the-bone meat that’s nicely flavored with smoky barbecue sauce. Other bestsellers include the Lemon Gamberi with Sun-dried Tomatoes Pasta, Darling Steamed Creamy Dory and Parmesan-Crusted Garlic Shrimp.

Desserts are equally popular: the light Frozen Brazo de Mercedes (P60 per slice) does away with the cloying sweetness usually associated with this Pinoy favorite, while those who like rich, goey chocolate treats should try the Chocolate Nirvana (P110 per slice), meant to be a slice of chocolate heaven.

Felicity is a welcome change from the row of drinking spots that dot the Holy Spirit Drive. "It’s really a place where you can take your kids," says de Leon. More perks: free wi-fi access awaits laptop-toting customers, plus the space can also be reserved for intimate parties and celebrations.
