Boracay Dragons bag silver in 3rd World Championship of Beach Ultimate in Italy

(SPOT.ph) The Boracay Dragons won second place in the Open Division of the 3rd World Championships of Beach Ultimate held in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Udine, Italy, from August 21 to 27, reports the Philippine Daily Inquirer. The Philippine contingent fell behind the United States team 13-9, bagging their second consecutive silver medal.


The Dragons are eight-time defending champions of the Boracay Open. Composed of Boracay residents and migrants, the team that played in Italy included Ben Yap, Boboy Famorcan, Clyde Sullano, Datu Sumndad, Hendrix Maming, James Yap, Jason Lopez, Jeffrey Rodriquez, Joebert Buenaventura, Jude Lee, Karen Cabrera, Kristian Guerrero, Panoy Delos Santos and Wendell Simbulan.


Beach Ultimate is a flying disc team sport. The objective is for players to bring the disc to the opponent’s goal.
