Comedy King Dolphy, who turned 83 last July 25, seems to be a favorite death hoax subject-but his longtime partner singer Zsa Zsa Padilla clearly doesn’t find this amusing.
MB.com.ph reports that Padilla was miffed over the the latest Dolphy death rumor. At around 9 a.m. on August 31, Padilla answered queries about the fake tragedy via her Twitter account. She tweeted: "NOT TRUE. Every month na lang?! He is sleeping."
According to the MB.com.ph article, the death hoax’s orgin was a blog site which claimed that Dolphy was "rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Hospital" on the evening of August 30 but "passed away at 9:55 p.m. due to heart failure."
As it turns out, Padilla and the comedian had been out on the night of Dolphy’s supposed "death." "I have been posting pictures of Dolphy pa nga since I got back from the US. We were in Hizon’s last night," she tweeted.
In December last year, Dolphy himself addressed the death hoax progenitors via TV Patrol. He jokingly said, "Ako, hindi ko masasabing mamamatay na ’ko. Kaya sinasabi ko, kanya-kanya tayong oras ng pagdating do’n. So huwag niyo kong apurahin, darating tayo dun (I can’t say when I’ll die. I say, we all have our own time when it comes to that. So, don’t rush me, we’ll get there)."
