SunStar reports that Fordham University in New York conferred an honorary degree to President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.

Fordham University officials led by its president, Fr. Joseph Mc Shane S.J., presented the President with his Doctor of Laws degree honoris causa in a ceremony held at the institution's Keating Hall, Rose Hill Campus, Bronx, New York. The university had also presented the same degree to President Corazon Aquino in 1986.

The Aquinos’ names, along with over 30 others, are now carved on the steps of what is known as the "Terrace of the Presidents" at Keating Hall.

Other past presidents of the Philippines who also received honorary degree from Fordham were Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Fidel Ramos, Ramon Magsaysay, and Carlos P. Garcia.
