What is it with P-Noy’s staff and Twitter?
GMA News Online reports that yesterday, September 20, presidential spokesperson Atty. Edwin Lacierda slammed the groups that organized the September 19 transport strike.
Lacierda had initially initially posted on his personal Twitter page: "Whether they would admit it or not, the PISTON-led transport strike is a dud!" He then also tweeted: "Noticed how leftists are so onion-skinned? Tinawag lang perjuicio ang strike, pumputok ang butchi nila! Mahilig bumanat pero mga pikon pala (You call the strike an inconvenience, they get mad. They like to criticize but when you criticize them, they get offended)!"
When some users tweeted that perhaps he had to separate personal opinion and government duty, Lacierda replied, "Why? Who came up with those rules?"
In an interview aired on GMA-7’s 24 Oras, George San Mateo, secretary-general of the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (PISTON), had this to say about Lacierda’s tweet: "I hope hindi n’ya kinakatawan ang pag-iisip ni Pangulong Aquino. Nakakalimutan n’ya na spokesperson s’ya ng presidente mukhang ine-air out n’ya mga personal views n’ya."
In the same 24 Oras segment, it was reported that Lacieda told GMA News that he won’t say sorry for his tweets since he believed many others shared his sentiments.
