ABS-CBNNews.com, citing the most recent Pulse Asia survey, reports that Vice President Jejomar Binay is still the "most appreciated and trusted top official of the national government."
Pulse Asia’s "Ulat ng Bayan" survey was conducted from August 20 to September 2, with 1,200 adult respondents nationwide.
Binay got an approval rating of 85 percent, while President Noynoy Aquino got 77 percent. Only three precent of the respondents disapproved of Binay’s performance, statistically the same as Aquino’s four percent disapproval rating. Binay likewise topped the trust ratings of national government officials with 86 percent; Aquino, 75 percent; and Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, 59 percent.
According to the ABS-CBNNews.com report, Malacañang is happy with the results of the survey. Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said she "doesn’t see anything wrong" about the vice president getting higher approval and trust ratings than the president.
