Reuters reports that Apple Inc. co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs died on Wednesday at the age of 56, after a years-long and highly public battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer and other health issues.
According to the report, Jobs is "counted among the greatest American CEOs of his generation." He resigned as CEO of the world’s largest technology corporation in August, handing the reins to current chief executive Tim Cook.
Forbes.com reports that Jobs is survived by his wife, Laurene Powell Jobs, and four children. Last March, Jobs was ranked 109th on Forbes’ list of the world’s billionaires, with a net worth of about $8.3 billion.
