ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire triumphed over Argentina’s Omar "El Huracan" Narvaez in New York City’s Madison Square Garden. With this, Donaire keeps his World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight titles.

Although Donaire did not get the knockout victory he was hoping for, he was declared winner by unanimous decision after 12 rounds. Commentators noted that "Narvaez seemed unwilling to engage Donaire throughout the fight."

According to the report, Donaire still plans to leave the 118-pound division and pursue bigger fights in the 122-pound division.
