Pablo Picasso’s works featured in Metropolitan Museum of Manila exhibit

GMA News Online reports that renowned Spanish artist Pablo Picasso’s works will be will be featured at the Galeriya Banko Sentral of the Metropolitan Museum of Manila from November 10, 2011 until January 7, 2012. The Suite Vollard by Picasso is a collection of 100 etchings using different techniques that were made in Paris from September 1930 to March 1937.

GMA News Online reports that renowned Spanish artist Pablo Picasso’s works will be will be featured at the Galeriya Banko Sentral of the Metropolitan Museum of Manila from November 10, 2011 until January 7, 2012.

 

The Suite Vollard by Picasso is a collection of 100 etchings using different techniques that were made in Paris from September 1930 to March 1937.

 

The report revealed: "According to the exhibit notes from the museum, the prints first appeared in 1938 in two formats-on vellum paper at 50 copies per plate, and on Montval paper, which was produced in runs of 250 copies. The collection owned by Fundacion Mapfre is one of the few that were kept in its entirety."

 

Picasso, who died in 1973, is one of the most well-known 20th century artists. He is credited with popularizing the Cubist style.
