Inquirer.net reports that a 15-minute video "that assails President Benigno Aquino III and his family for their ownership of Hacienda Luisita, among other things" is now getting a lot of buzz.
The video, Aquino-Cojuangcos: Facts They Don't Want You To Know, was uploaded on YouTube on October 21 by a user known as "PinoyMonkeyPride." The video’s opening sequence claims it was produced by PinoyMonkeyPride Production. As of 11:13 a.m. today, November 8, it has gotten 337,048 views.
The report quoted Department of Budget and Management Secretary Florencio Abad, who said that he suspected the video was "possibly meant to distract attention from controversies like the departure bid of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo." However, Abad quickly added that he didn’t really know who was responsible for the video.
The report pointed out that the video also "slams the Philippine Daily Inquirer and ABS-CBN for backing what it calls the ’Yellow Propaganda’ that depict President Benigno ’Noynoy’ Aquino III as a ’rock star’ and his late parents, former Sen. Benigno ’Ninoy’ Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon Aquino, as a ’hero’ and a ’saint,’ respectively."
In the note accompanying the video, PinoyMonkeyPride wrote: "This is not an anti Aquino-Cojuangco propaganda. All of the leads, facts and trivia presented can be verified online through credible sources. These facts are silenced in Philippine media."
