ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo lawyers filed a formal request for "hospital arrest" on Wednesday, November 23, at the Pasay Regional Trial Court.
Â
In addition to her existing medical problems, they said Arroyo is also suffering from anorexia nervosa or lack of appetite. To support their claim, they presented a medical certificate wherein "conservative management" was recommended for the former president. Arroyo remains confined at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Â
The Pasay RTC had already granted the Arroyo camp’s request for temporary hospital arrest after she was hospitalized last week.
Â
In light of this development, the Department of Justice urged the Supreme Court to "issue a subpoena for Arroyo’s physicians to explain before the Court her real medical condition."
